WARNING: NC-17 Journal

This is is the bio for Adrian Tepes, not my own. I'm also taking a few liberties with history. I am sticking to the Castlevania series canon where I can, although expanding on things they only suggest. Also, history conflicts with the game, so I've adjusted the dates of a few events.

Adrian Farenheits Tepes, a.k.a. Alucard, is the son of Vlad Tepes. He is a dhampyr, the hybrid child of a vampire and a human. Vlad met his mother, Lisa, while he was exiled from Wallachia. They secretly got married, and their first son was born in 1466. Vlad, who was anxious to regain his power base to establish a future for his wife and son, made a deal with the devil. Thus, as a vampire, he returned to Wallachia in 1469. And his wife bore him another son, Adrian, in 1470. Needless to say, Adrian's upbringing was a bit odd, even for the times. Vlad regularly tortured and killed his citizens, often by impalement.

When Adrian was older, he served under his father for many years. During that time Vlad sunk deeper and deeper into depravity. Lisa tried to be a good example for Adrian, but Vlad sent her away. Left to her own devices, she tried to make a living using her healing powers. Adrian went to retreive her, only to find her being burnt at the stake as a suspected witch, and for marrying a vampire. Her last words to him were that he should not hate humans, and if he couldn't live with them then do them no harm.

Enraged, blaming his father, and at some level himself, he began to plot Dracula's downfall, even as he continued to serve under him. While working through his machinations, he encountered Sonia Belmont, who was descended from what was thought to be a long lost family with extraordinary powers. Recognizing that he was not strong enough to defeat his father, he took it upon himself to train her. During that time they fell in love and married. When she was finally able to beat Adrian in battle, he reluctantly let her attack Dracula. She was the first Belmont to become legendary for killing Dracula.

Afterwards the young couple ran into a series of misfortunes. Sonia was feared for her power, and exiled from her homeland. She also found herself pregnant with Adrian's child, and growing exceedingly concerned about how safe her child would be in society as long as anyone even suspected who the father was. She did remain with Adrian for a few years, but before their son Trevor was old enough to speak she fled with him.

Adrian was bereft, and resented humans in general. When Dracula resurrected for the first time Adrian returned to his former position. He received quite a shock when several years later his own son Trevor arrived at Dracula's castle. He tested Trevor, who was able to defeat him in battle. And so Adrian took his first direct action against Dracula by assisting Trevor.

For the first time Adrian really considered the effects of tainting the Belmont line with vampiric genes. Distraught, he decided to withdraw rather than meddle any further, and he placed himself in a comatose state.

Several centuries later, Richter Belmont battled against Dracula and won. However, one of Dracula's minions later managed to place a spell upon Richter, putting him under the influence of evil. The resulting shift of power managed to rouse Adrian, who proceeded to Dracula's castle to locate the source of the trouble. He met Maria Renard along the way, and together they located Richter Belmont. Adrian battled against Richter, who was able to use weapons such as crosses and holy water against Adrian. Nevertheless, Adrian was able to truly defeat a Belmont in battle, and was also able to remove the spell from Richter.

Realizing that he had grown considerably in power over the centuries, Adrian continued on alone. He had a brief but civil conversation with Dracula, who wanted to know how his beloved Lisa had died. And then, in the heart of Dracula's realm, in the deepest part of the night, and without the holy items the Belmonts relied upon, Adrian was able to defeat his father through sheer force. This came as a bit of a shock to both parties.

Afterwards, Adrian had an attack of guilt over murdering his own father. Maria Renard chased him in an attempt to lift his spirits. They did have a pleasant courtship, but Adrian soon grew tired of her hero worship, which he felt he did not deserve. He returned to his slumber, and only recently has awoken.

Nexus History

At one point, he was in a trio, and married to Jimmy Angelov as well. He had been sharing himself, allowing Jimmy his more vampiric side, and Tabby his more human side, but events made that impossible. Jimmy's own volatile temper and tendency to act impulsively left Adrian having to cover for him with Tabby, until he grew too weary to continue the charade. He approached Tabby with several things Jimmy had done that Adrian had kept secret, and she decided it was time for a partial divorce. Adrian was more than happy to back her up on that, since he is content with her, instead of shattered as he has been most of his life.

While Adrian has many centuries under his belt, he was broody and angsty enough to sleep through most of it, and can be surprisingly immature as a result. He has managed to avoid making enemies, except for Jack Sparrow, whom he despises and will sometimes attack. He is less than thrilled to have Sonia Belmont wandering around. In the past he disliked Agent Sheldon Sands, who tried to steal Tabby from him, but they have something of a friendship now. He has a wide range of powers, from strength and speed to shapeshifting and black magic. He is injured severely by blessed items, holy water, silver, and stakes, although he is able to withstand sunlight and running water. His most powerful attribute may very well be his preternaturally good looks, which leave men and women swooning. Sometimes he considers that a curse and burden, in the manner of someone very vain.


Notes for Role-Playing
Adrian can be very civilized. However, by today's standards he is often an unpleasant person. He grew up in 15th century Romania, where his father tortured and killed people for what would be today considered minor crimes. Adrian served willingly (although may have been too young to comprehend fully) and can be rather brutal. He is arrogant (although perhaps subtle about it) and thinks he has the solution for everything. As he has been a dhampyr since birth, he does not actually have any problems with drinking blood. He only shows restraint because he does not want to be hunted down. As a predator, he is excited when he causes pain.

Keep in mind Vlad Tepes' personal passion was the creative torture of adulterers, especially woman. Vlad Tepes also has a revulsion for homosexuality, from the time he spent in Turkey. Loose behavior was highly unacceptable at the time, and Adrian's upbringing was rather strict. Also, despite a tendancy to lord over humans because of his age, he has really only been awake for around 35 of those years, and has about that maturity level.

He loves himself some baaaaabyanimals.
